Dr. Lori Winne has been a co-director or director of Camp OFLA since its beginning in 2005. She holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction and contributed 36 years to foreign language education in Toledo Public Schools as an administrator and teacher. Before her retirement, Lori taught elementary German and Spanish, which she has also taught at camp. Dr. Winne will step back as Program Director for Camp OFLA 2025 and be the German teacher.

Mr. Lucas Hoffman has been a French teacher for Camp OFLA since 2005. He has also acted as co-director and web master in recent years. Currently a French teacher for the Sylvania Schools, Lucas received his Masters in French from the University of Toledo in 2023. For Camp OFLA 2025, Mr. Hoffman is Pedagogical K-12 Expert and Treasurer.

Ms. Lee Bishop has been a Japanese teacher for Camp OFLA since 2005. She has also acted as co-director in past camps. She currently teaches Japanese, ESL and international seminar for Columbus City Schools and is completing her Ph.D in teacher education at the Ohio State University. For Camp OFLA 2025, Ms. Bishop will teach Japanese.

Mrs. Laura Helpman is the head Russian teacher for Camp OFLA. She has a teaching degree in Russian and a Masters in gifted education from Bowling Green State University and currently teaches Russian for Toledo Public Schools. She has taught Russian for Camp OFLA, acted as camp nurse, and co-directed. In 2025 Mrs. Helpman will again teach Russian.

Ms. Samantha Colby - Huber is a junior high and high school Spanish teacher for Toledo Public Schools. She is a 2018 BGSU graduate who earned her Master's Degree in Spanish this past July. This will be her fifth year at Camp OFLA. Ms. Colby - Huber will be joining us as Spanish teacher again this year.

Mr. Jesse Baum has been a HS Russian counselor and head cook for Camp OFLA. He has also spent several summers as an activities director for Templed Hills, has worked at Forest Camp in Russia, and has been program coordinator for Army Europe Child Youth Services in Belgium and the Netherlands. He also spent a year teaching abroad in Spain. Currently Mr. Baum is a science for Glass City Academy in Toledo and is working on his Master's degree in administration at the University of Toledo. He will be the Program Director for Camp OFLA 2025.

Mrs. Whitney Schlagetter teaches junior high French and Reading for Sylvania Schools. Mrs Schlagetter is currently working on her Master's Degree. She has been a part of camp for 9 years - as French teacher, cook and activities director. She will be joining us as French teacher once again in 2025.
